The purpose of the session is to provide awareness of fire strategies and give delegates insight into how complex engineering assessments are undertaken. The session includes seminars on Fire Safety Law, the Building Safety Act, Designing to Prescriptive Codes and Performance-based Fire Engineering.

This two day course is aimed at those already working in the fire industry and looking to increase their knowledge of Fire Engineering. The CPD course covers three learning outcomes – 1) Understand the Importance of Fire Safety and Fire Engineering; 2) Understand the Principles of Fire Engineering Design; 3) Understand the Use and Purpose of Guidance Documents; and will provide delegates with an in-depth understanding of fire engineering practice and the tools to confidently develop as a Fire Engineering practitioner. The seminar includes real-world examples throughout the classroom sessions of fire engineering design as well as the underpinning theory that Engineers use to develop performance-based solutions. The session includes seminars on Fire Engineering Design Frameworks, Evacuation Strategies, Types of Alarm System and Introduction to Fire Modelling.
