This one-day seminar provides a comprehensive overview of wildland fires, from fundamental wildfire science to firefighting strategies to tackle large-scale events.
This seminar will be of interest to those who have responsibility for land or property at risk from wildland fire, those who are responsible for fire safety in rural areas and those who may need to take action during wildland fires such as the Fire & Rescue Service.
Delegates will receive an introduction to wildfire science, as well as insights into new and emerging hazards caused by increasing wildland fires. The Wildland-Urban Interface will be discussed with a detailed case study of the 2025 Southern California fires. The teaching lab in Preston will host a practical demonstration to observe the effect of moisture content on burning brand development.
