Learners will explore structural fire engineering and critical passive fire protection measures such as fire doors, fire stopping, and cavity barriers. Activities include fire engineering calculations and practical surveying will be carried out.

On successful completion of this course, learners will:
Delivered over three days, content will delve into structural fire engineering and learners will have the opportunity to gain hands-on fire stopping experience in the Delta Practical Skills Lab. Content includes:
o Fire doors
o Fire stopping
o Cavity barriers
This course is aimed at those who are entering the fire engineering profession and are working towards professional status. Also suitable for building control officers, approved inspectors, fire risk assessors, surveyors, architects and other fire safety professionals.
No formal entry requirements although a Level 04 or above qualification in a relevant subject would be advantageous. Learners must be proficient in the use of the English language.
