Level 04 Certificate in Intermediate Fire Risk Assessment

 This course requires learners to demonstrate the application of fire safety principles addressing the following learning outcomes:

• Application of fire safety principles to analyse information when undertaking FRAs in building or premises that can be categorised as presenting a moderate risk.
• Interpretation of the roles, responsibilities and powers of enforcing authorities under all relevant fire safety legislation.
• Critical evaluation of the requirements and limitations of specific fire safety measures required to mitigate fire development.
• Understanding of building design, construction and maintenance influence fire safety outcomes.
• Critical evaluation of fire safety management systems used in buildings presenting a moderate risk.

Suitable for practicing fire risk assessors who operate in buildings presenting a moderate risk such as those with sleeping accommodation, increased fire hazards or more complex layouts and use such as colleges, hotels, restaurants and leisure centres. May also be appropriate for those acting as Lead Fire Risk Assessor or working towards BAFE SP205 registration.

Level 3 Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment (610/6233/9). Those with an alternative Level 03 Certificate will need to provide further evidence of professional practice.

Candidates must also have access to suitable premises to allow them to gather the evidence requirements of this qualification specification.
