Level 03 Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment

The course is designed to meet the requirements set out in BS 8674:2025 framework for fire risk assessors operating in premises presenting a low risk. It introduces learners to the core principles of fire safety in occupied premises, including the nature and behaviour of fire. Learners will explore how building design and construction choices can influence fire spread, as well as how occupant behaviour affects fire safety risk.

By the end of this course learners will be able to:

• Understand the  role and responsibilities of fire risk assessors.
• Understand fire development and spread, prevention principles and human behaviour in fire.
• Understand fire protection, means of escape and associated management systems within low-risk premises.
• Carry out fire risk assessments in low-risk premises

Suitable for early-career fire risk assessors and those transitioning from related careers who wish to undertake fire risk assessments in low-risk premises. Learners should be operating under organisational supervision or have access to mentors or advisors providing structured support in the role. 

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Candidates should have access to suitable premises to allow them to gather the evidence requirements of this qualification specification.
